Ionian String Quartet

The Ionian String Quartet is based in Co. Down, Northern Ireland and is available for hire for weddings, functions parties and corporate entertainment at events all over Northern Ireland. With over 20 years experience in organising events we are confident we can provide you with the right music to suit your occasion.

We guarantee the highest standard of performance and presentation for your event, all four members are experienced freelance musicians and are music graduates of either University or Music College and hold professional performance diplomas. We have performed alongside artists from the pop and classical world including Michael Bublé, Andrea Bocelli, Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson, Sir James Galway, Lesley Garrett, Dame Kiri te Kanawa, Phil Coulter, Westlife, The Corrs, Andrew Strong and Andrea Begley.

As well as playing together in the quartet, all four members regularly work as freelance musicians providing music for TV & Radio as well as studio recordings for albums. This is in addition to freelance work with orchestras and ensembles such as the Ulster Orchestra.

We specialise in weddings and will work with you to create the perfect atmosphere for your special day. We guarantee a personal service, tailored to your individual requirements. Music can be provided for the ceremony, drinks reception, evening meal or any combination of these.

Our selection of music is extensive, ranging from the more traditional string quartet repertoire of Mozart and Haydn right through to contemporary pop songs and jazz classics. We also are happy to arrange specific pieces of music by request to help you make your special day even more personal.
